EXPECTED CONSUMPTION
Regenerating clean energy
Consumption: Consumption in a photovoltaic plant refers to the amount of electrical energy produced by its solar panels that is used to satisfy local needs or be injected into the electrical grid. It is the internally generated electricity that supplies the plant's own equipment, such as cooling systems, lighting and machinery, thus reducing dependence on external energy sources and optimizing operational efficiency. Additionally, the surplus energy produced can be distributed to the electrical grid or stored for future use.
The desalination facility will initially produce 600hm3 of desalinated water. To obtain one cubic meter of desalinated water, a power of 4.5kW is required. Therefore, a consumption of 2,700,000,000kwh/year is expected, which translated into daily consumption would give a consumption of 7,400MWh/day.
In conclusion, a constant hourly consumption of 310MWh will be needed. To achieve uninterrupted supply of this requirement, the installation of self-consumption of 1,317MWp / 1,054 MWn with a storage system of 7,400MWh capacity is planned.
In this way, the desalination facility will be self-sufficient during sunny hours and can be supplied by the storage system during nighttime hours or for at least 24 hours uninterruptedly.ompany mission is toβ¦
